Seez, a Dubai-based start-up, has announced its proposed acquisition by UK-based automotive technology company Pinewood AI.

The deal is worth $46.2 million and will comprise cash alongside shares, the company said in a statement.

Seez is a technology company that provides digital services for car dealerships aimed at increasing sales, including an AI virtual assistant, digital marketing services and ecommerce tools.

Pinewood AI’s parent company Lithia Motors is one of the largest dealer groups globally. It said that it aims to integrate Seez’s AI virtual assistant across its global network of dealerships.

Seez was founded in 2016 in Dubai and now operates in 16 markets worldwide, including Mexico and Australia.

Last year the company raised $4.2 million in a funding round.
