People & Lifestyle UAE’s Response Plus buys UK healthcare firm Prometheus By Pramod Kumar January 21, 2024, 8:38 AM Response Plus Holding RPM operates 500 clinics, catering to the oil gas and industrial sectors Abu Dhabi-listed healthcare provider Response Plus Holding’s unit has acquired Prometheus Medical, a UK-headquartered healthcare training and consultancy services company. The acquisition will accelerate Response Plus Medical’s (RPM) entry into the UK and Nordic region, strengthening its training capabilities and expanding its portfolio to cover health consultancy for emergency preparedness and response, the company said in a statement. Prometheus is part of US-based Safeguard Medical, a provider of emergency medical technologies and specialised training for first responders. RPM operates 500 clinics, catering to the oil gas and industrial companies such as Adnoc, Schlumberger, Oxy, Total, and Halliburton. “The strategic acquisition of Prometheus not only enhances our capability to deliver top-tier healthcare services to valued clients in diverse and innovative fields but also expands our global footprint,” said Dr Rohil Raghavan, CEO of Response Plus Medical. As part of the acquisition, RPM will become a distributor for Safeguard Medical’s trauma care and simulation products in GCC and India. The acquisition will be funded through debt and internal accruals and is estimated to contribute early teen inorganic revenue and EBITDA growth. The value of the deal was not given.
