Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade grows 12% in H1 2022

Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade rose 12 percent to about AED 124 billion ($33.76 billion) in the first half of 2022 from AED 110.33 billion in the same period of 2020, UAE state-owned news agency, WAM, reported.

Exports during the first six months increased by 26 percent to AED 49.47 billion, compared to AED 39.19 billion in the same period in 2021.

Re-export activities increased by 6 percent year-on-year to AED 23.43 billion in the first half of 2022.

Saudi Arabia was the largest contributor, growing 3 percent to AED 28.64 billion from AED 27.90 billion. Switzerland followed with AED 9.53 billion, surging 260 percent year-on-year.

The US came third with AED 9.33 billion, up 21 percent year-on-year, followed by China (AED 5.96 billion) and Kuwait (AED 5.87 billion), the report stated.
