Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan collects $16m at UAE box office

Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan’s latest action-packed movie “Jawan” has become the first Indian film to cross the $16 million collection in the Middle East, the movie makers said in a post on social media.

The film was produced by Yash Raj Films, a film production and distribution company in India, 

The movie, released worldwide on September 7, is among the highest-grossing Hindi films. The movie has minted 10.68 billion Indian rupees ($128 million).

Jawan was made on an estimated budget of 3 billion Indian rupee. 

Before the movie’s release, the actor flew to Dubai as the Jawan trailer was screened on Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Shah Rukh Khan’s next film “Dunki” will hit screens in December.  

The Indian superstar has acted as the brand ambassador for the city in the recent past and owns a mansion on Palm Jumeirah.
