Etihad's new route is in response to higher demand for cargo capacity for China

Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of state-owned Etihad Airways, has ramped up its freight network by adding a weekly service to Guangzhou, China.

The new route is in response to higher demand for cargo capacity from China, bringing the total number of freighter services for mainland China to 10 per week, the Abu Dhabi-headquartered airline said in a statement.

The new flight route will further enhance trade and logistics development between Guangzhou and Abu Dhabi International Airport, while strengthening connectivity between the Middle East, China, and other Belt and Road Initiative economies.

Etihad Cargo has launched a weekly freighter service to the Hubei Province of China. In addition, it offers eight weekly freighter flights to Shanghai.

The carrier provides additional belly capacity for China through 10 weekly passenger flights to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.

Etihad Cargo plans to increase frequencies and introduce new destinations to the rising capacity requirements.
