Dutch mobile, PC and console games developer MY.GAMES will establish its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi in partnership with UAE-based AD Gaming.

The Amsterdam-headquartered company will hire and develop local game developers, Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a statement.

The company’s Abu Dhabi-based team will work on more than 70 games across AD Gaming’s portfolio, including titles such as War Robots, Rush Royale, and Hustle Castle.

MY.GAMES has more than one billion registered users worldwide.

Alex Chachava, owner of MY.GAMES, said that Abu Dhabi’s strategic location and thriving gaming ecosystem make it a crucial region for the entire gaming industry.

AD Gaming is home to more than 50 gaming companies, including international firms such as Unity Technologies and Ubisoft, as well as local companies such as Boss Bunny, AA Meta, etc.

Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Riyadh-based Public Investment Fund has been active in the gaming sector, acquiring more than $3 billion worth of stock in three US video-game makers in the past couple of years. They include Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive Software.

In September 2022, the local National Development Fund announced a SR300 million ($80 million) fund to help develop the gaming and e-sports sector in the kingdom.
