French convenience store retailer Casino Group will open 210 stores in Morocco over the next decade as part of its international expansion strategy.

The company has partnered with Morocco’s H&S Invest Holding to open Franprix and Monoprix branded outlets, the companies said in a joint statement.

Franprix specialises in urban convenience stores, while Monoprix provides a “one-stop shop” catering to all budgets.

The first stores will open next year, the statement said.

H&S Invest will set up a new subsidiary, with investments expected to reach more than $108 million between 2025 and 2027, according to Morocco-based The North Africa Post.

Its chairman Moncef Belkhayat said H&S Invest hopes the deal will create more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs by the end of the decade.

Casino Group operates in more than 30 countries and has 472 franchised stores outside France, representing 3.5 percent of its net sales in 2024.

The company generated gross merchandise volume of €12.4 billion ($14.07 billion) in 2024.
