The project is the US company’s first foray into Qatar’s property market. The project will include an 18-hole golf course, a clubhouse and branded villas overlooking the golf course and the beach, DarGlobal, which is listed in London, said in a statement on Wednesday. It will occupy about a tenth of the broader Simaisma development that spans 8 million square metres on the nation’s east coast. “We are immensely proud to bring the Trump brand to Qatar through this exceptional collaboration with DarGlobal,” said Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization. The Simaisma Project, developed by the Diar Real Estate Investment Company, was announced last year by Qatari prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Head for an emerging market It will include luxury resorts, a theme park in the style of Disney’s Magic Kingdom, an 18-hole golf course, houses, a yacht club and marina and restaurants and shops. Dar Global has already unveiled several projects in partnership with the Trump Organization. These include plans for a Trump tower in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and Jeddah, real estate projects in Oman and further expansion in Abu Dhabi. The Trump Organization’s inaugural launch in Qatar coincides with the announcement of the launch of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai, also in partnership with Dar Global.
