The contract was awarded by Ta’ziz, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and state-owned Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ). Construction of the plant, in Al Ruwais Industrial City, 240km (150 miles) west of Abu Dhabi city, will be completed by 2028. It will be one of the largest methanol plants in the world with a planned production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per year. The facility will be powered by clean energy. Around 40 Wood project management consultants, supported by experts at the company’s regional energy transition hub in Abu Dhabi, will work with Ta’ziz’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. The value of the contract was not given.
