Company Insights Tabreed Utilities Tabreed Overview The National Central Cooling Company, also known as Tabreed, provides district cooling solutions in the UAE. A district cooling system consists of a pipe network filled with water that is chilled by district cooling plants. The chilled water travels from the plant to the building, cooling the space, and returns to the plant to be cooled again. Based in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, Tabreed currently delivers more than 1.3 million refrigeration tonnes of cooling for infrastructure projects such as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and Dubai Opera. It also cools Cleveland Clinic, Ferrari World, Yas Mall, Aldar HQ, Etihad Towers, Marina Mall, World Trade Center in Abu Dhabi. Tabreed commissioned its first district cooling plant in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi in 1998 and now has 86 plants across the GCC.
