Company Insights Saudi Research and Media Group 4210 Media & Advertising Saudi Research and Media Group Overview Saudi Research and Media Group (SMRG) is a Saudi state-backed media company registered in Riyadh. The group mainly prints and distributes publications. In 1963 the first company of the group, Al Madina Printing and Publication Company, was founded. Al Madina Printing and Publication Company was later called Saudi Printing and Packaging Company (SPPC). It was formally established in 1972. Saudi Research and Media Group was established in London in 1978 with the launch of Asharq Al Awsat. Ten years later, it was registered as a limited liability company in Riyadh and then converted into a joint stock company in 2000. SRMG was listed on the Tadawul in April 2006. The company employs 1,900 journalists, creators and business leaders who reach an audience of more than 172 million, in seven different languages. SRMG has 30 titles, 25 websites and utilises interactive content alongside live news channels, apps and digital platforms. The company has 18 offices across 11 countries.
