Mobily Overview

Mobily is a Saudi Arabian telecoms provider, offering comprehensive fixed line, mobile and internet solutions.

Mobily was established in 2004 and won the bid for the country’s second Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) licence.

In 2008 it bought licensed data service provider Bayanat al-Oula and local internet and data communication provider Zajil.

Mobily says it focuses on driving digital transformation and connectivity across Saudi Arabia. It owns 66 percent of the Saudi National Fiber Network, one of the world’s largest fiber-optic networks.

The company says it has achieved rapid subscriber acquisition, pioneered 3.5G and 4G services and is recognised as a leading regional operator.

The UAE’s Etisalat holds a 27.45 percent stake.

Subsidiaries include National Company for Business Solutions, Mobily Ventures Holding, Etihad Fintech Company and Mobily Infotech India Private.
