Gulf Bank Overview

Gulf Bank is a Kuwait-based bank that provides products and services including consumer banking, wholesale banking, treasury and wealth management.

It has more than 50 branches and over 300 ATMs across Kuwait.

Gulf Bank was founded by a group of 12 merchants in Kuwait City. It has been listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange since 1984.

Gulf Bank’s largest shareholder is Al Ghanim Trading. The government of Kuwait holds a minor share through the Public Institution for Social Security. Foreign investment makes up about 15 percent of its shareholdings.

Gulf Bank says it actively engages in community-based initiatives. This includes making strategic partnerships with local organisations and hosting the Gulf Bank 642 Marathon, the biggest marathon in Kuwait City.

As part of Gulf Banks’s strategy 2025 it established InvestGB, an investment arm aimed at enhancing the fees and commission income of the bank.

Subsidiaries include Gulf Capital Investment Company, InvestGB Gulf Bank of Kuwait and shareholders include Al Ghanim Trading, the Public Institution for Social Security and Behbehani Investment Company.
