ADQ signs sponsorship pact with Egyptian football club

Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Pyramids Football Club (Pyramids FC), an Egyptian Premier League professional sports club.

The fund will be the official partner of Pyramids FC, reinforcing ADQ’s position as a long-term investor in Egypt.

The financial details of the deal were not given.

Since its establishment and rebranding from Al Assiouty Sports Club in 2018, Pyramids FC has grown to become one of the higest performing football clubs in the Egyptian Premier League.

“Through this sponsorship, we hope to leverage the universal appeal of football to convey our passion for excellence, our belief in the importance of partnerships as well as our dedication to fostering the health and well-being of local communities,” Anas Jawdat Albarguthi, chief operating officer at ADQ, said in a press statement.

ADQ has been supporting professional sports and grassroots programmes in soccer, cycling, and basketball through its partnerships with the UAE Football Association, UAE Team Emirates, UAE Team ADQ and the NBA.
