The investment will be spread over the next five years, which includes building a new private jet terminal. Work started on the first phase of the AED128 billion ($34.85 billion) Al Maktoum International Airport in June 2024. The first phase of the airport, due to be completed within a decade, will be able to accommodate 150 million passengers a year. When finally completed, the airport will be five times the size of Dubai International Airport and capable of handling 260 million passengers annually.
