Seven, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has launched its fifth entertainment destination in Saudi Arabia.

The SAR1.3 billion ($353.96 million) project near Abha International Airport will cover a land area of 64,000 sq m with a built-up area of more than 79,000 sq m.

The architecture, designed by California-based firm Gensler, is inspired by the ancient stone buildings of the area.

“Seven’s entertainment destination in Abha is one of the key projects in Aseer which will support our ambition to become a global destination all year round,” said Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, chairman of Aseer Development Authority.

Abdullah AlDawood, chairman, Seven, added that the company expects a GDP contribution of more than SAR4 billion and over five million visitors by 2030.

Seven has appointed Modern Building Leaders to undertake the construction works.

The Abha centre will have eight attractions, which include a jungle-themed edutainment attraction created in partnership with Warner Bros.

Seven is investing more than SAR50 billion to build 21 entertainment destinations.

The projects will come up in 14 cities across the Kingdom, such as Riyadh, Kharj, Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Dammam, Khobar, Al Ahsa, Madinah, Yanbu, Abha, Jizan, Buraidah, and Tabuk.
