Saudi introduces multi-entry visas for Qatar World Cup 2022 fans

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced a new multi-entry visa for visitors holding the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Hayya card.

The ‘Hayya’ card is required for all World Cup attendees and provides entry into Qatar and the stadiums.

Holders of the card can apply for the new Saudi visa online and book a trip to the kingdom before, during and after the World Cup.

Visas will allow a 60-day stay, beginning ten days prior to the tournament, Saudi Tourism Authority said in a statement.

Meanwhile, state-owned Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) will operate 40 shuttle flights daily to Doha from Jeddah and Riyadh, increasing to 60 daily flights on the Saudi team’s match days. Doha is a 90-minute flight from Riyadh.

The tourism authority said that the Salwa border crossing between Saudi and Qatar will also be open for land travel, with the new port having an increased daily capacity of more than 24,000 cars. 

Saudi Arabia has lifted all travel covid-related restrictions for international travellers.
