Terra Solis aims to be enchanting desert resort in Dubailand, attracting music lovers

Belgian music festival organiser Tomorrowland has teamed up with local partners to open an adults-only desert resort, which will include luxury glamping accommodation, it was announced yesterday at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.

The desert resort, to be named Terra Solis, will be located in Dubailand, Al Yufra, 25 minutes’ drive from Downtown Dubai and will open in September.

Prices will start from AED900 per night and will include three accommodation types, such as 48 bell tents, 20 luxury lodges, and six exclusive lodges with private pools, all located within the Arabian dunes.

Glamping in a desert destination

“Terra Solis is a one-of-a-kind desert destination away from all the noise. It is inspired by the magic of Tomorrowland and the most beautiful star constellations, where you can wake up from a night under the stars and live to the rhythm of the sun,” Nicolas Vandenabeele, Founder and CEO of Terra Solis, said in a press statement.

“Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a memorable world of wonder with the finest music, a vibrant yet relaxing pool scene, incredible tastes and aromas and a unique glamping experience in the Arabian dunes while relaxing in style under the Dubai sun.”

Terra Solis plans to operate each year from September to June. When questioned by AGBI as to how the project was being funded or the exact structure of Terra Solis’ relationship with Tomorrowland, Vandenabeele declined to comment on financial details.

Restaurant fit for glampers at Terra Solis

Organisers said the 371,000 square metre site will have “a fun party atmosphere” and all guests must be over 21-years-old. The developers plan to bring the atmosphere of the popular Belgian electronic music festival Tomorrowland to the desert of Dubai, with regular music events staged at the resort. The festival, which was first staged in the Belgian town of Boom in 2005, takes place every year, welcoming around 600,000 people from over 200 countries, and selling out in minutes each year.
