Global hotel chain Marriott International will open two luxury properties in Trojena, a year-round mountain destination in the $500 million Neom development.

The deal with the US hotelier includes Saudi Arabia’s first W Hotel and a JW Marriott property.

“We are excited to work with Neom to develop these two properties in one of the most highly anticipated developments in the world,” Chadi Hauch, Middle East vice president Marriott International, said in a statement.

The W Hotel in Trojena is expected to have 236 rooms, including 47 suites. Design plans comprise signature brand spaces, including a living room, wet deck, W lounge, away spa, fitness center and four restaurants.

The hotel will be situated within the region’s Lake Village, an area expected to feature an “enchanted forest and adventures on the waterfront”.

The JW Marriott Hotel in Trojena will be situated in The Bow, which it described as a “futuristic water world that combines nature with technology to create a unique living environment”.

The JW Marriott hotel is expected to have 500 luxury rooms and suites

The hotel is expected to have 500 luxury rooms and suites, as well as entertainment and recreational offerings, including a ballroom, meeting spaces, five dining venues, a fitness club, a kids’ club, swimming pools and a spa.

No financial details and completion timelines were shared.

Trojena is estimated for completion in 2026 and will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
