The UAE’s manufacturing industry exports account for 43.9% of overall Arab exports

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world in terms of the value of manufactured exports in 2021, with a total value of $142.5 billion, the UAE state-run WAM news agency reported, citing the Arab Monetary Fund’s (AMF) joint Arab economic report.

Manufacturing industry exports in Arab countries totaled $325 billion in 2021, up from $244 billion in 2020, a 33.2 percent increase due to the unwinding of Covid-19 restrictions.

The UAE accounted for 43.9 percent of these exports, owing to strong growth in the field of re-exports, the report said.

Saudi Arabia came second to the UAE with approximately $69 billion and a 21.2 percent stake, followed by Morocco with $19.9 billion and a 6.1 percent share.

Egypt’s share stood at 6.1 percent, followed by Tunisia (four percent), Bahrain (2.2 percent), Jordan (2.1 percent), Kuwait (two percent), and Algeria (1.1 percent).

The report further stated that Lebanon’s share stood at 0.8 percent, followed by Libya (0.5 percent), Palestine (0.5 percent), Djibouti (0.5 percent) and Iraq (0.1 percent).
