The Mercedes-AMG World of Performance will cover 45,000 square metres across nine floors and include immersive attractions and exhibits focused on the car brand and its successful F1 team. The centre will be located on the start-finish straight of Qiddiya City’s speed park track, which is currently under construction and will host future F1 races. It will include more than 60 simulators and a Motion 4D simulator theatre. The project is supported by Juffali Automotive Company, the distributor for Mercedes-Benz cars in Saudi Arabia. The racetrack at Qiddiya city, designed by the Austrian former Formula One driver Alex Wurz and the German circuit designer Hermann Tilke, will have 21 corners and use Qiddiya’s natural landscape to create more than 108 metres of elevation gain per lap. It will have multiple configurations, including a street circuit section, a fast open track section and an elevated racetrack corner, the Blade, which will rise more than 70 metres above the ground. Qiddiya, one of Saudi Arabia’s giga-projects, was valued by the real estate consultancy Knight Frank at around $22 billion in its 2024 annual report. It is forecast to be completed by 2030.
