US hospitality company Equinox Hotels will open its first hotel in Magna, a lifestyle coastal destination within the Neom giga project.

Equinox Resort Treyam will be designed as a 450m long bridge-like structure that will appear to float 40m above a lagoon.

The hotel will feature guest rooms and suites, a 450m pool, new culinary concepts, a clubhouse, a spa and a fitness club.

No financial details and construction timelines were shared.

Last month Neom said that the 12 Red Sea coastal resorts rolled out over the past year will be branded collectively under the name Magna.

“The twelve destinations will span 120km and are poised to set a new global standard in luxury sustainable tourism,” a statement said.

Magna’s 12 destinations, including Treyam, are located in the northwest of the kingdom on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba.

Equinox Hotels CEO Christopher Norton said the resort, located between The Line and the southernmost point of the Gulf of Aqaba, will serve as a model for transformative luxury.

Neom is the lead giga-project of a series of tourism, entertainment and residential projects owned by the Public Investment Fund and valued at around $1.25 trillion.

Dr Manar Al Moneef, chief investment officer at Neom, said last month that it plans to offer a variety of partnership models, including joint ventures and build-operate-transfer agreements across over 150 initiatives in multiple sectors.
