QatarEnergy has signed the “largest and longest” naphtha supply agreement with Singapore-based oil company Shell.

Under the 20-year agreement, QatarEnergy will supply up to 18 million tonnes of naphtha to Shell, starting from April 2025.

The state-backed energy company has joint investments with Shell within the country and globally, including its LNG projects and Pearl GTL plant.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Qatar is the world’s largest LNG supplier and plans to expand output to 126 million tonnes annually by 2027 from 77 million tonnes under the two-phase North Field expansion project.

In December 2023 QatarEnergy signed a five-year crude supply agreement with Shell to supply up to 18 million barrels of Qatar Land and Qatar Marine crude oils each year to Shell from January 2024.
