Shorooq Partners Overview

Shorooq is an alternative investment management company founded in 2017 by Mahmoud Adi and Shane Shin.

Focused on emerging markets, Shorooq has investments in technology, fintech, gaming, climate and cryptocurrencies among other sectors.

Since its inception Shorooq Partners has expanded its assets under management from $2 million to approximately half a billion dollars.

Shorooq says it analyses around 5,000 companies annually and invests in 12 to 15 each year. Its portfolio includes companies such as Pure Harvest Smart Farms (co-founded by Adi), NymCard, Tamara, Sarwa, Lean Technologies, TruKKer, Mozn and Lendo.

Shorooq’s investors include regional sovereign funds such as Abu Dhabi’s  ADQ and Mubadala, Dubai Future District Fund, and Saudi Arabian pair Jada and SVC, plus the Korean Venture Investment Corporation and regional family offices.

Shorooq is based in Abu Dhabi and also has a presence in Dubai, Riyadh, Egypt and Korea.
