QatarEnergy has signed a five-year agreement with India's Gail, shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) from April, equating to one cargo monthly1.

The company has partnered with Singapore-based Shell, delivering three million tonnes per annum of LNG to China starting in January 20252.

QatarEnergy also expanded its presence in Namibia by acquiring additional stakes in two exploration blocks in the Orange Basin. The percentage interests in blocks 2913B and 2912 will rise to 35.25 and 33 respectively, pending regulatory approval3.

In Egypt QatarEnergy plans to acquire a 23 percent stake in an offshore exploration block from US oil company Chevron4.

QatarEnergy has also secured a 20-year agreement to supply 18 million tonnes of naphtha to Shell, beginning in April 20255.

QatarEnergy Overview

QatarEnergy, formerly Qatar Petroleum, is Qatar’s state-owned petroleum company. It operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration, production, refining, transport, storage, sales and delivery.

Based in Doha, QatarEnergy is one of the world’s largest oil companies by both oil and gas reserves.

Its onshore oil and gas field Dukhan produces crude oil, associated gas, condensate and non-associated gas.

Offshore, crude oil and associated gas are produced from QatarEnergy’s Idd El-Sharqi, Maydan Mahzam, Bul Hanine and Al-Murjan fields.

QatarEnergy is also one of the top exporters of liquified natural gas (LNG) through its QatarEnergy LNG subsidiary, which it says has the world’s largest fleet of LNG ships.

QatarEnergy​ has signed numerous global exploration, development and production agreements with major oil and gas companies including Total, Maersk Oil Qatar, GDF Suez, China National Offshore Oil Corp, Exxon Mobil and Dolphin Energy.
