Emirates Water and Electricity Company

Emirates Water and Electricity Company Overview

The Emirates Water and Electricity Company (Ewec) is the sole supplier of water and electricity in Abu Dhabi and some other parts of the UAE.

Ewec says it is aligned with the Emirates’ strategy to achieve 50 percent of clean energy and a 70 percent reduction in its carbon footprint by 2050 compared to 2015 levels.

Its renewable energy projects include the Zarraf Solar PV Project, which aims to power 160,000 homes and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 2.4 million metric tonnes.

Adnoc Gas and Ewec have recently signed a 10-year agreement to support the UAE’s transformation to a decarbonised water and electricity system.
