Company Insights Dubai Airports Company Aviation Dubai Airports Company Overview Dubai Airports Company, is the authority that owns and manages the operation and development of both of Dubai’s airports: Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). It was created after the Department of Civil Aviation was restructured into Dubai Airports Company and the regulatory body, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. Dubai Airports Company is divided into several business and supporting units including cargo, finance, commercial, marketing, engineering and IT. It cooperates with government entities such as the police and immigration services. In 2024 DXB was named the world’s busiest airport for passenger traffic for the 10th consecutive year after receiving 87 million passengers. It serves more than 100 carriers on routes to more than 250 destinations. DWC is undergoing a massive renewal programme costing $35 billion and is ultimately planned to feature five runways, servicing 26 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo a year.
