Company Insights Alec Construction Alec Overview Alec Engineering & Contracting is a large construction company based in Dubai. It extended its operations to Saudi Arabia in 2020 and also has a presence in Oman and Ethiopia. The company is part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai. Since it was established in 1999 as a joint company between Al Jaber Group and Grinaker of South Africa, Alec has worked on complex projects including airports, hotels and resorts and high-rise buildings. Projects include the Waldorf Astoria at Dubai International Financial Centre, the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi and Qiddiya’s water theme park. Alec is also behind the Wynn Resort in Ras Al Khaimah. It was reported in February 2025 that Dubai is hoping to raise up to $500 million from the initial public offering of Alec Engineering and Contracting.
