The 6 percent year on year rise was driven by sustained growth throughout the year, capped by an exceptionally busy last quarter, Dubai Media Office said in a statement. December emerged as the busiest month, receiving 8.2 million guests. “We seek to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global bridge between markets and cultures, and a hub for connectivity and innovation,” said Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said that the 2024 results exceeded the forecast by almost 200,000 in guest numbers. DXB will reach the 100-million target for annual guests by 2027, supported by $35 billion expansion plans for Al Maktoum International, he said. Currently, the airport connects 272 destinations across 107 countries through 106 international airlines.
