Aviation Price talks rumble on between Turkish Airlines and Boeing By Pramod Kumar July 23, 2024, 6:04 AM Turkish Airlines Turkish Airlines will not make any announcement about Boeing engines at the Farnborough Airshow, said chairman Ahmet Bolat Turkish Airlines will not announce a deal with Boeing at the Farnborough Airshow this week as negotiations over the engine price continue, chairman Ahmet Bolat has said. “We are not going to announce anything in Farnborough,” he said, adding talks were being held with engine supplier GE on Monday. “I think we are close, but the important thing is to fly the aircraft effectively and efficiently,” Aviation Week reported Bolat as saying. The order includes 150 737 Max narrowbody jets and 75 wide-body 787s. The Turkish carrier announced its fleet expansion by purchasing more than 200 Airbus aircraft in December 2023. In April Bloomberg reported that Turkish Airlines was expected to sign an agreement with UK’s Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc and European planemaker Airbus to manufacture $20 billion worth of aircraft components locally.
