The factory will be constructed on a plot of land measuring 150,000 square metres, Ahram Online newspaper reported, citing a cabinet statement. The project includes the building of technical education training and research centres. He added that construction is likely to be completed within one year, with the plant creating 3,500 new jobs. The factory seeks to export 100 percent of the vehicles produced, Ahmed Magdy, managing director of Sumitomo Egypt, was quoted as saying. Japan’s business group Sumitomo operates eight manufacturing plants in Port Said. The company exports around $213.97 million worth of products annually, the report said.
