Construction of the 16,900 square metre expansion of Yas Waterworld is set to be completed in 2025, and will add 3.3 km of slide sections and is expected to grow guest capacity by 20 percent. The total number of rides and experiences will reach 60 after the expansion and will include the UAE’s highest water slide. Yas Waterworld’s expansion will include a “Lost City” adventure, a swim up bar, a high-thrill boat ride, racing and tube slides, family raft rides, and a duelling master blaster. The expansion will also offer rides for “mini thrill seekers” by providing smaller scaled versions of Yas Waterworld’s most popular rides. Yas Island includes attractions such as Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Clymb Abu Dhabi, Yas Bay Waterfront, which is home to the UAE’s largest indoor multi-purpose venue Etihad Arena, and SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. No financial details were given. Earlier this month, the emirate opened its new terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport. It will be capable of handling 79 planes at once and 11,000 passengers per hour.
